Does what you do matter?

Let's start with this... What you do matters. Just start with that.

The work you do, the way you build things, the results you deliver matter. In a world full of social media and the latest trends, some truths are universal. What you do matters. The quality of what you do reflects who you. So, yes. It matters.

Stop worrying about what others think and focus on how you can get better.

Forgot the 10,000 hours. Just work for one hour, just one. Start with that.

Then another.

Then another.

Build those hours while no one is watching. Work until the quality is undeniable, the evidence incontrovertible, the mastery irresistible. All because what you do matters.

When the time comes that you are openly undervalued, take step back and breathe. Look inside yourself and honestly assess, is it my work? You'll know if it is. It will be abundantly clear.

If it's not your work. Then quit. Don't quiet quit. Don't do the bare minimum. Don't let your work get sloppy. Your time, effort and reputation are far too precious for that sort of rubbish. You deserve better than that.

Just quit and go do what you do somewhere else. If you've done the work, done all the repetitions, spent all those hours in the silent space between you and no one else, your work will not be in question.

You'll find another place. A place with people who will value what you do. They will be your tribe.

They will see you. They will know. Your work matters.
